Custom app development
from €3,500Shopify Custom App Development
We design and build custom Shopify apps — private apps for a single store, or public apps for the App Store — on backends built to survive real Shopify webhooks, rate limits, and edge cases.
Typical timeline
Usually 4-12+ weeks
Best for
Owned workflows, internal tools, or product-grade apps with backend state.
What we need
Store access, workflow rules, API constraints, and the people who own the operation.
The problem
You need functionality no off-the-shelf app delivers: bespoke logic, an internal dashboard, or a product-grade public app. The hard part is rarely the UI — it is owning order and state data, processing webhooks reliably, and not falling over at scale.
What we build
- Embedded admin apps (React + App Bridge + Polaris)
- Rails or Node backends with background jobs and durable state
- OAuth and managed install, session tokens, and app proxies
- Webhook processing with idempotency and replay safety
- Retry-safe event pipelines and Admin GraphQL + bulk operations
- Private internal tooling and custom merchant dashboards
How we approach it
- Start from the data and the failure modes, not the screens.
- Make webhook processing idempotent so nothing is lost or double-counted.
- Test against real Shopify rate limits, partial failures, and odd carts.
- Ship to a development store / staging app before anything touches live.

FAQ
Do you build public App Store apps or private apps?
Both. We build private/custom apps for a single store and public apps intended for the Shopify App Store, including the OAuth, billing, and review requirements that come with publishing.
What stack do you build on?
Our default is a Rails backend with a React (App Bridge/Polaris) admin, the stack we run our own production Shopify app on. We can work with an existing Node or other backend if you already have one.
Can you take over an existing Shopify app?
Yes. We frequently start with a technical audit of an existing app or codebase, then stabilise webhooks, data integrity, and performance before adding new features.
